Once again Jack Pransky joins us in Europe for a two and a half day immersive Three Principles retreat, where we step away from the noise of daily life and into a space of deep presence and connection.

Through guided practice, listening with a silent mind and reflective dialogue, we discover together an even deeper power of deep listening beyond what we have experienced.

We look so much forward to welcoming you this spring in York, England 15th-17th May 2026!

What's Perfecting Deep Listening all about?

The purpose of the Perfecting Deep Listening retreat is for participants to grasp the depths of what Deep Listening truly is, why it is at the heart of all relationships, of transformational coaching and working with others in general.

From the Oxford Dictionary: “Perfecting” means “to make (something) completely free from faults or defects, or as close to such a condition as possible”.

By the end of this retreat participants will—

  • Understand what Deep Listening is really all about, beyond even what most people understand to date who have learned Deep Listening

  • Experience the depth, feeling and power of Deep Listening

  • Have practiced how Deep Listening works—in pairs, triads and groups

  • Know how to apply it in work and life so it can be used with confidence after this retreat

  • Be in a good feeling, and will have had fun, connected with like-minded folk, made new friends and had a good experience

About the Facilitators

Jack Pransky, Ph.D.

Jack is an internationally respected Three Principles trainer, coach, mentor, and author — having learned directly from the originator, Sydney Banks. He’s one of the most widely published voices in this work, including Somebody Should Have Told Us! (a highly regarded introductory book) and Modello: A Story of Hope for the Inner City and Beyond (which received the Martin Luther King Storyteller’s Award). Jack has been sharing this understanding globally since the 1960s and continues to guide individuals and professionals toward deeper clarity and natural wellbeing.

Henriette Curtz Jansen, MSc.

Henriette holds a master’s degree in sport science and health promotion and works with businesses and private clients on wellbeing, resilience, and leadership. As a Three Principles coach and yoga teacher, she helps people understand the mind–body connection and recognize their spiritual nature in everyday life. She is also the author of Little Soul, a poetic children’s book offering a gentle, spiritual perspective on death for families. Listening deeply invites profound shifts — guiding us back home to a peace that’s always present.

Retreat Program

Across three days, we will combine the understanding of the Principles with direct, practical experience in a joined circle, in pairs and in triads and smaller groups:

  • Guided Deep Listening sessions

  • Partner and group practice

  • Reflection and integration

  • Time to connect and share with like-minded people

You’ll leave with a clear sense of how Deep Listening naturally enhances confidence, resilience, creativity, and compassion — in work and life.

The course runs from Friday morning to Sunday after lunch. The first two days include a morning session a long afternoon retreat break (after lunch) on one’s own or with others in the group to walk,, commune with each other, enjoy the city,  exercise, sleep or meditate, and an evening session (before dinner). The third day session runs through the morning and finishes before lunch.

Please note that meals are not included and are self-organized. In our experience the long break is a beautiful opportunity to connect with old and new friends - perhaps over a lunch.
In the evening, after training you may wish to enjoy a relaxed meal in one of York’s many independent restaurants, join a ghost walk-, a fun way to discover the city’s spookier stories-or sip something local in a historic pub dating back centuries.

York is a place that invites curiosity and slow exploration — a perfect backdrop for deep listening. We hope you'll enjoy discovering it.!

We truly understand that life can be unpredictable and sometimes plans need to change. On the other hand, I’m sure you can understand that we also have commitments that need to be honored. As such, we have designed our cancellation policy with care, so we can honor both your needs and the commitments involved in creating this retreat.

If You Need to Cancel Your Attendance

  • 30 days or more before the retreat: We’ll be happy to offer a full refund, minus the £50 deposit, which serves as an administrative fee.

  • 15–29 days before the retreat: We will offer a 50% refund of your retreat fee.

  • 14 days or fewer before the retreat: At this stage we’ve already invested in your place, so unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds.

  • If you don’t attend the retreat: We’re not able to issue refunds for no-shows.

We warmly welcome substitutions! You’re welcome to transfer your spot to another person at no extra cost anytime up to 48 hours before the retreat—just send us a quick message to let us know.

If We Need To Cancel The Retreat

In the unlikely event of us having to cancel the event we will, of course, issue a full refund of your retreat fees. Please note that we can’t reimburse travel or lodging expenses, so we recommend refundable options whenever possible. In case of any emergency affecting  the retreat, we will either reschedule or offer you the choice of a full refund or credit toward a future retreat.

Wellbeing

This retreat is an educational and experiential exploration of Deep Listening. We prioritise confidentiality and prefer a smaller group size, so spaces are limited.

Please let us know any dietary, accessibility or personal needs so we can support you as best we can.

We’re so glad you’re considering joining us.

If you prefer not to appear in any photos, just let us know—we’re happy to honor your wishes.

If you have any other thoughts or questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch — we’re happy to talk things through!

York - a historical city

York is a small, historic city with a very special atmosphere — calm, walkable, and rich with character. With its ancient city walls, winding streets, independent cafés, and riverside walks, it offers a natural sense of slowing down.

Many people experience York as quietly supportive of reflection and presence. It’s a place where history and everyday life coexist gently, making it an ideal setting for a retreat focused on listening, simplicity, and connection.

There will be space during the retreat to enjoy the city — whether that’s a walk along the walls, time by the river, or simply sitting with a coffee and letting life move at its own pace.

Practical information

How To Get To The Venue From York

Bus Routes from York to Heslington:

U1: Connects York City Centre (like Merchantgate) to Campus East, via Hull Road, and serves some stops in Heslington.

U2: Runs from the city centre to the University campus, via Heslington Road, and serves some stops in Fulford. There a quite a few Air B&Bs on Heslington Road.

U3: Travels from York City Centre (like Merchantgate) and connects to the University campus, with a new service that includes stops on Fulford Road and Heslington Lane. Also good for Air B&B’s.

You may download the app moovit for further information on how to find your way around York and to our venue.

Journey time on the bus from the city centre is approximately 15 minutes. However, York traffic is terrible, so I would recommend setting off earlier. The bus stop is 2 minutes walking distance from the hall. Use Heslington Hall stop on Main Street

Parking

Unfortunately, parking is not available right at the venue.

However, you can park for free at the Outgang (10 minutes walk away)—a children’s play area and sports field—or on village streets nearby.

Find the Outgang car parking at this link: Outgang Lane Play area

The Outgang is not an official car park; vehicles are parked along the track and at owners risk.

Accommodation

Heslington Road or Fulford Road for B&B accommodation and hotels is reccomended due to its proximity and accessibility both to the venue and to the city centre.

Heslington village itself is of course an option for accommodation but it gets pretty booked up with students or visitors to the university. For any accommodation it is recommended not to wait too long to book because York is a tourist area.

Feel free to conduct your own research, if you like. York is full of quirky, adorable places to stay. Please do not hesitate to contact Chrissie with any queries. She has been living in York for 25 years.
